Joe hails from Toledo, Ohio, home of the Toledo Mud Hens, and MASH star Jamie Farr. He graduated from Miami University in Oxford, OH with a BS in Business Finance. Upon graduation, Joe worked in the disability insurance industry, becoming one of the top members of his sales team.
Joe and his wife, Sara, moved to Durango to pursue the good life. In May of 2003, they bought the franchise formerly known as Mailboxes Etc., and immediately made the conversion to The UPS Store.The young entrepreneurs married in July 2004, at Dante's Restaurant on Durango Mountain Resort. Joe and Sara have two St. Bernards, Sammy and Brutus, and they love exploring the Southwest. While not running their businesses, they enjoy camping, skiing, hiking, biking, fly fishing, dining and scouting out great personal real estate investments. The Clairs are also active members of their church, and are coordinators of a "financial awareness course" called Financial Peace University. Joe is also a member of the Board of Directors for Youth Baseball of Southwest Colorado.
